Tuesday, February 26th, 2008: Mammoths Announce Deal for Veteran RF
In what local scribes are hailing as huge, the Mammoths inked a $22,600,000 deal with right fielder Oscar Woodworth.

Team Officials expect Woodworth to fill an immediate void on the roster and felt the deal would make them an instant playoff contender.

Over his 999-game career Woodworth has compiled a .310 batting average and collected 1201 hits, 115 home runs and 533 RBIs.
Monday, February 11th, 2008: Marietta, Stockholm Close Deal
Several Mammoths and Sluggers players soon will have to start shopping for a new home. It was announced today that the two teams came to agreement on a trade. Marietta will get 18-year old minor league catcher José Trujillo and Stockholm will pick up 22-year old minor league center fielder John Chartrand in return. "I'm not surprised by the news," one of the players told reporters, "It's part of the business and I understand that. I am looking forward to playing for the Mammoths."

Wednesday, January 30th, 2008: Mammoths Announce Deal for Veteran SP
Despite his solid numbers, some fans questioned the value of the Steven Pate signing even as Marietta officials paraded him before the media this afternoon.

Pate will surely bring a lot to the club, but he comes at a price of $7,420,000 over 2 years.

In his career Pate has fanned 748 batters and walked 461 in 1341 innings of work. His lifetime won-lost record is 77 victories and 74 defeats with a 4.13 ERA and opposing hitters have compiled a .686 against him.
