Ronald Vierra kept the Hoos from doing any damage to the Miners today at Miners Ballpark. Charlottesville's 6 hits and 1 walk came to naught as Marion took the contest 15-0. Vierra added 13 strikeouts in his complete-game effort.

| Saturday, September 22nd, 2007: Stokes of Charlottesville Named Best Pitcher
The Outstanding Pitcher Award for 2007 has been presented and the Midwest League winner is Bobby Stokes of Charlottesville.
"It's always nice to receive an award like this," said Stokes. "I just hope I can improve on my performance next year and be in the running again," the Hoos star told reporters.
Stokes excelled with an impressive 16-4 record in 27 starts. In 198.1 innings he yielded 132 hits and 60 walks, while striking out 152 and compiling a fine 2.13 ERA.
