| Breaking News |  | Friday, March 21st, 2008: Stockholm Third Baseman Hurt
After the end of today's game between Stockholm and Ramapough Mountain, Constantino Martinez skipped the clubhouse and headed straight for the doctor's office. After he was removed from the game as a precaution after running the bases, the Sluggers had their worst fears confirmed when it turned out to be more serious. The third baseman will miss at least 3 months with a torn calf muscle.

| Friday, February 15th, 2008: Stockholm Wins Lottery for 3B Martinez
Stockholm Sluggers fans welcomed Constantino Martinez into the fold, as the veteran announced he'd reached an agreement with Stockholm brass.
Some were critical of the move, insisting that you shouldn't invest $18,000,000 in a 36-year-old man, no matter how good he might be on the field. The team believes he will deepen their roster and ultimately win a championship.
Taking a look at his lifetime stats, Martinez is hitting .272 with a total of 189 home runs.

Several Mammoths and Sluggers players soon will have to start shopping for a new home. It was announced today that the two teams came to agreement on a trade. Marietta will get 18-year old minor league catcher José Trujillo and Stockholm will pick up 22-year old minor league center fielder John Chartrand in return. "I'm not surprised by the news," one of the players told reporters, "It's part of the business and I understand that. I am looking forward to playing for the Mammoths."
